Ratting chains.
The subway always sounds like heavy rattling chains being pulled through some machine. Standing, I'm watching a blur of stations pass by, tunnel lights are shooting stars.
It's a turbulent ride. "Next stop, the conductor says, that black hole just past Jupiter. Should you feel the need to vomit, bags are just under your seat.
The skytrain slows to a halt. With a hiss, the doors open and people begin to leave. "Be sure to walk through the decomp zone before leaving the station, and enjoy your stay at Io's Paradise."
As I step out the train, a girl holding a wreath of flowers greets me. "Hello sir, would you like to try the com-shuk?" She says, grinning.
"What?" I blink at her.
"Would you like to try your luck at one of the slot machines?" She says gesturing to one of the many machines available.

Heading into Manhattan, I decided to read through part of Candy Girl. I found it tough to contain my laughter. Cody comes off sounding like a few of my friends in the sense that she's easily quotable. Ever know someone who says something that causes you to mutter "Oh Crap!", chuckle and wish you were that witty?
That's what the book (and this movie) feels like.
I just got out of the theatre and wow! I have got to see this again. :)
