Nothing snaps me out of self-absorption quite like a magnificent morning sky. There have been many times I've been driving somewhere, lost in thought, undoubtedly frowning, and then, for whatever reason, I finally send my eyes skyward and my mind and my senses swing open. Photographs, at least the ones I take, never do justice to the vast panorama of delicate hues, the banks of clouds tinged with pink and gold, soft, pearly light infusing all. There's no way I can see that and not feel awe. It lifts my spirits every time.
